Needs of the Dolphins

Last night I watched the Dolphins lose to the Browns. And watching that game raised a few question and thoughts about what needs the Dolphins need to adress this upcoming draft.

First of all. I am not at all sure that Trent Green will start any more games for the fins this season. Not because of the concussion but because Cleo Lemon was playing good when he got the chance. And that is one of the major issues on this years Dolphins team: Giving the QB the protection he needs to be able to deliver the ball to the recievers.

The other major problem is on the other line, the defensive one. Miami can't stop the run. So they'll need to adress that problem to.

If they get an early first round pick and, as of now, all signs tell us that they will. I think that they will look at two players: Jake Long and Glenn Dorsey. The best offensive and defensive linemen in the upcoming draft. If one of them is gone when the fins get on the clock they'll probably go for the other one.

But, consider, for instance, that when the time comes for Miami to make their pick (and it might just be the first pick overall) and if McFadden is still on the board. Don't be surprised if they consider offers for their first pick. The Cowboys would, for instance, love to add McFadden to their offense to help their running game become a real threat. And the cowboys have two first round picks (thanks to the Brady Quinn trade up by the Browns last year). If I was in the Dolphins war room, I'd seriously consider giving up an early pick for to first round picks to help strengthen both lines.
